Queensland University of Technology honours Indian film star Amitabh Bachchan with an honorary doctorate that he accepted after two years of refusal due to past bashing of Indian students in Australia .

QUT vice-chancellor Peter Coaldrake gave this award and pointed out an increased safety of Indian students in Australia along with improvements in the perception of India-Australia relationship.
