The Australian Government announced on 22nd September 2011 a number of measures to enhance the competitiveness of Australia’s international education sector. From 5th Nov 2011, student visa will be assessed against the new Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) requirement.
Hence the top 10 reasons NOW to consider studying in Australia:
1. Upto 4 YEARS Post Study Work Visa
University graduates who have completed a Bachelor degree or Masters by coursework in Australia are proposed to be eligible to apply for a two year post-study work visa.
University graduates who have completed a Masters by research or PhD degree in Australia are proposed to be eligible to apply for a post-study work visa for three or four years respectively

Test results from the multiple English language tests for Student visa purposes taken in any country are being accepted
- Test of English as a Foreign Language internet-Based test (TOEFL iBT)
- Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic
- Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) test (also known as Certificate in Advanced English).

6. No requirement to study any SPECIFIC Course
It is proposed that applicants eligible to apply under GTE would not be required to nominate an occupation on the Skilled Occupation List or undertake a skills assessment.

To get work permit and PR you will have to study for minimum 2 years in Austrlia. For 1 year course you will not get the work permit.

yes you can apply for Nursing, but seats get full for Nursing very fast. Generally there is wait list for Nursing courses.
You will have to ask the university first if they have seats for Nursing course.

Yes it is mandatory to study for 2 years to get 2 years of after studies work permit.
On 1-1.5 years of study you will not get the work permit.
No duration has to be for 2 years only.

if the percentage is good then you can try for Australia, you will have to declare the reason of the backs in you statement of purpose

There are lot of universities in Australia under SVP who provide Master at 6.0 band than why are to give advice to take elicos at 6.0 band.
if colleges or university gives you offer on 6 bands then its ok, you don’t need to study Elicos, but most of the university has ielts requirement 6.5 for master
