Analyze the reasons for visa rejection
If you are worried because you have Canada student visa rejection or, if you are among one of the students, whose visa has got rejected under the high volume of visa rejections for Canada, we recommend you to analyze the reasons for visa denial cautiously. - You have not satisfied me that you will leave Canada by the end of the period authorized for your stay because:
- You have not demonstrated that you are sufficiently well established in your country of residence.
- Your proposed studies are not reasonable in light of one or more of the following : your qualifications, previous studies, employment, level of establishment, other educational opportunities available in India (the country of the applicant) or Canada, language abilities, or your future prospects and plans.
- You have not satisfied me with regulation 179 that you would leave Canada at the end of the temporary period.
- You have submitted documentations which lacks credibility as part of your application. This has diminished the overall credibility of your submission.
- You have not provided documents that demonstrate the relationship between you and your sponsor (other than your parents).
- You have not demonstrated that your sponsor will provide adequate support to cover the cost of your studies.
- You have failed to comply with our request for an interview. Based on the information provided, you have not satisfied me that you meet the requirements for issuance of a study permit.

Common SPP visa refusal mistakes
SPP visa guidelines are brief and precise. A clear understanding of the guideline is extremely important. Visa rejection reasons usually have a standard language. SPP rejections happen primarily due to:
1. Poor documentation
Canada high commission expects documents to be arranged according to guidelines. A single wrong documentation can become a reasons for visa rejectedTo your surprise, one of the most common mistake is “overdoing the paperwork”, so do your documentation properly.
2. Over explanation of case
Another common mistake is over explaining the situation when it is not required.

I have querry regarding my son. He completed his 12th (Intermediate) in June 2011 with 64%. For two months he took coaching for IELTS. In February 2012 he sat for IELTS exams and in March 2012 his IELTS results were declared. He got 6 Bands verall. In march itself he appllied to George Brown college for Hospitality course of 3 years and he was accepted for his admission on April 5, 2012 for September intake.
Could you please inform if from June 2011 till April 2012 was there any gap or he was taking IELTS course and was web browsing looking for good colleges in Canada. Would it be sufficient to put in SOP.
I would be paying his First semester fee through wire transfer and would be taking Bank loan of Rs 20 lakhs through placing Fixed Deposits.

Hello, I finished my high schooling in 2009 and I joined an university in India. I was studying bachelor of engineering and I am discontinuing it. I am applying for the bachelor of business administration in UFV canada and I have received my offer letter. Do you think my visa will get rejected doe to the fact that I have discontinued my engineering course. Also note that I cannot produce any mark sheets as my university only hands them out after I have cleared all the subjects in every semester.
If you hide your previouse bachelors you will have to give stong explaination to justify your gap.

See with the information which you have given visa will be a problem if proper documentation is not done. 17 backlogs is a big number, embassy generally does not accept so many backlogs.

I am Tina James. Could you please guide me. I passed out 12th securing 64% in 2011 and than joined BBA 3 years degree. But, in February I sat for IELTS EXAMS and scored 6.0 Bands. I applied in Centennial College (SPP) in 3 years Hospitality and Tourism Administration Diploma and received my admission for May intake. Now, my question is:- I have one year gap, what to be the reason to be filed in Visa Application form. My parents are going to arrange Ist semester fee from their own sources, and 9 lakhs I would be showing as education loan again FIXED DEPOSITES of Rs 12 lakhs. Is these funds are ok to be shown?

Yes , there is difference between in Business Management and Business administration , Business administration has a broader scope while business management has a limited scope in an organization. Studying business administration and business management courses would require one to study the same subjects and fields but Business administration also involves management and, in fact, business management is considered a part of business administration.

First of all can you please advise under what category did your husband applied? If it was a Student Visa and it got rejected then you cannot apply for Spouse Visa.
Dependent Visa dependes on Student Visa, If Student visa is rejected then spouse cannot go in that country to work alone. But yes you can as a fresh applicant apply for studies OR you both can go again on student Visa.
But there is one condition minimum band required for IELTS to apply in Canada is 6.0 overall, so we would recommend you to appear for your IELTS again.

On the education form write your Bsc.(H) details only, you can leave your Bsc. Biotech details. Whereas when you will write your SOP you can mention in that about this gap.
Don’t hide it completley, just mention in the SOP.
Regarding 10th and 12th marks yes they are considered important, they wil not completely effect your application but they will be kept in consideration.

when , 1 CAD = Rs 82
as i had heard the loan would help so i had even submitted the original student loan papers .

the money in the bank was kept about a year ago which was kept only for me by my parents so i could get a international degree,

Hi Dhruv, You need to have good academic scores in order to get admission in a good instiution and visa both. You seem to have around 16 backlogs(cosnidering 2 backlogs in each semester as you have mentioned) plus a pass class in your graduation. This is indeed not a good performance in graduation however you have performed well class X and Diploma. Now you need to work on finding out right course which is of you interest plus where you can perform well. I was having more than 15 back logs in the time of engineering studies… but i got cleared those papers later…. so Is there any problem related with issue(back logs)…?some of my friends told me u cannot apply for canada student visa as the canadian embassy will not allow more than 5 back logs…could please help me to get a proper information on this issue…? if no issue, then how could i start the visa process(spp or non spp)…?

You have way too many backlogs than those recommended under SPP.
We would recommend you to apply outside spp as then there would be more possibility of your getting a visa.

I just want to clarify one thing that I’ve taken admission in Douglas college, Vancouver, Canada for Associates of Arts English Degree program; recently my friend in same College for Associates of Computer Science program got rejection for visa approval without any reasonable reason. Its unfortunate that you got a rejection.There could be other reasons for your visa rejection apart from what the VO has mentioned. Depending on the documents you submitted and few more things, you could apply again under either the general or university category. You cannot however apply under SPP again.

“A student can apply only once under SPP in an intake so in case visa is refused the student can not apply again in SPP for that session. So there are two options left either apply again in next session under SPP or apply in same session but not under SPP”
If you have been rejected once under any category you cannot apply under SPP. We recommend that you apply under general or university category. Visas are assessed on merit basis under each category. If you satisfy the visa requirement you should not have problem in getting visa for Canada.

You have selected a course lower than your current qualification whereas you are eligible to for admission in management at higher level. This does seem an appropriate decision. We recommend you select level and course specialization appropriately.

You do not need to do anything special to satisfy the visa officer except choosing an appropriate course for higher studies. We are not sure how useful was your course in your future growth. If you apply again under general category with proper explaination, you should not have problem with visa.

There are many loop holes in your case. 1st is Backlogs, 2nd is Third Division in 12th, 3rd is 3yrs of Study Gap. You would have applied in General category for better chances of Visa.

You do not need to make up your visa file, if you qualify the visa requirement, visa officer will consider your file positively. Academic scores are one of the important criteria’s of student visa for Canada. Minimum second division is recommended under any category. However that’s not the only criteria for selection or rejection. Your individual scores in each subject will also be considered for the assessment.

sir i have 2 backlogs in my bechloers.but i had complete my bechlors with 60%#so my backlogs affect the spp visa.
Backlogs are not recommended under SPP however this is also not the only criteria of getting the visa. It also depends on your backlog’s history like which semester, which subject, when you cleared and with what %. If you have chosen a university for your higher studies, you may apply under university category.

You should have applied under general category as you have study gap and back logs which are not permitted under SPP. While applying again under general category, you are suggested to make your application as clear as possible for the visa officer to take an appropriate decision.

You have not mentioned your percentage in BTech. If you are choosing one of the traditional research based universities in Canada for Masters degree, their entry requirement is very high and you should have excellent score in BTech. To give you an idea, you should have approximately 80% in BTech to have some chances of admission. Also you must follow the deadlines which is usually 8 months in advance. Only first division is not enough for admission in such universities as these universities have very high demand for seats and only top quality applications are selected. This is in no way a proof or a indication that you are not a good students. Its only because the seats are limited and demand is pretty high. You can select some of the new universities or community colleges. Qualifications from these institutes are well recognized in Canada and internationally. The key is to select an appropriate course for yourself which adds value to your current qualification and provide you better future prospects.

I have taken a diploma in Animation from Cochin,INDIA and I had applied for a 2 year diploma in Digital Media & IT at NAIT (Edmonton,CANADA) . You need to provide details of all your activities from class X onwards in your visa applications. You can apply for visa under general category. You should be clearly explaining in your application your intentions behinds studying ACCA course and usefulness of the program in your career in Bangladesh or abroad. You have not misused visa in the UK which is good for your profile however you have different qualifications in the past. If you have clear pathway, you should not have problem in getting visa if rest of file including financial verification being complete and done in proper order. All the Best!

Calm down and just have a look at your case as a thrid person. You have much more backlogs than what is permitted under SPP. Your application doesnot qualify for visa under SPP category under the basic rule of SPP. Now whether you will get visa under general category or not will again depend on the fact if the visa officer finds you a genuine student for studies in Canada. Its not possible to comment on your file without seeing each and every document of your visa application . We recommend you send your detials to our visa team for the feedback.

Every visa application is assessed on its own merit and if your visa application is clear and your intentions are apparent, it should not be a problem. You do not need to worry as visa decisions are taken on the basis of your overall assessment of application. Visas are granted under every category provided you qualify the requirement of that category.

Its important that you go through your visa application properly and find out the missing information. I had joined first year when i applied for Diploma in Business studies, i scored 6.5 band overall in Ielts plus i passed class 10th and 12th with 2nd division. The reason for the rejection was same as earlier that my proposed studies are not reasonable…i’m shocked and devastated. As I applied to Fanshawe college for International business Management and visa got rejected, submitted documents on 21st july and received on 28th July with reason given by them is
“Your proposed studies are not reasonable in light of one or more of:your qualification,previous studies,employment,level of establishment,other educational opportunities available in India or Canada,language abilities ,or your future prospects and plans.?”
But I did nt understand why they as my percenatge in bachelors is 45 which is im commerce stream but my work experience is in media field that is off nearly 5 years with Ielts 6.5 plus loan of 7.5 lakhs and 1st semester fees paid from own funds and my age is 28.
So can you suggest me if again apply under general category what are the chances of getting it and also it will take how much time or is it possible that can I apply for Jan 2012 right know or is their any specific time span after that which we can apply as some one told me we cannot apply prior to 90 days of course starting date.

You have too many backlogs that creates doubt on your capability of taking up higher studies in Canada. You do not qualify the guidelines of SPP category due to this heavy backlogs in your studies however you can apply in General or University category. I have been studying in canada since 2006 Jan.. My study permit expired in 31 july 2010 and for some reason i could not apply before sep. So i applied on dec 2010. As i was late to re new it. they told me to go back to my country and re apply for the visa so i will get my study permit automatically. i flew back and applied for my visa and they rejected it saying –
1. you have not satisfied me with regulation 179 that you would leave Canada at the end of the temporary period.
2. i do not believe that your intent to study is genuine. ( though I never gave a semster break while i stayed in canada)
3. You have not satisfied me because of your contravention of the conditions of admission on a previous stay in canada ( i transferred my credits to another university and beside i got an diploma from a college)

You can apply under general category with a very clear visa application. You need to be precise with your intentions of studying in Canada. You seem to be qulaifying the basic requirement of study visa for Canada however you visa file must state the same.
